SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reconciles and resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments; collecting and analyzing account information; and preparing special reports and complex financial statements.  Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.  Ensures availability of funds and collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments; establishing and maintaining various obligation funds. Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions; reconciling entries.  Compiles with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.  Processes purchases and audits vouchers by  verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment. Provides accounting support services for administration of the charitable trusts and solicitations acts by auditing information submitted by charitable organizations and analyzing financial records. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and collaborative manner.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred and one year of accounting or auditing experience, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Working knowledge of professional and state accounting procedures, methods, and laws; standard office accounting equipment; personal computers and appropriate financial software are required. Requires ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare complex records, reports, and financial statements. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public required.

Hours of Work: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)

Position requires in office attendance.
