SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the Director of Budget/Fiscal, the Grant Manager researches, identifies, and responds to federal and state grant solicitations, and executes the grantmaking process by developing grant proposals, monitoring compliance, and managing the operational details of all federal and state grant programs awarded to the Office of the Attorney General. The Grant Manager is responsible for monitoring grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with fiscal and program reporting requirements including the federal government’s Uniform Guidance, tracking the distribution of grant funds, preparing monthly and quarterly fiscal reports, and assisting with the Office's year-end financial reporting with the State Comptroller. The Grant manager determines schedules for drawing down federal grant funds, prepares and files financial and property close-out reports at the end of each grant's cycle.

The Grant Manager is also responsible for tracking the distribution of settlement grants from the Office of the Attorney General, reviewing and tracking expenditures for said grants, and ensuring that settlement reporting deadlines are met. This position requires a high level of interaction with the office Bureau and Division Chiefs as well as federal and state grant monitors. The Grant Manager oversees monthly grant committee meetings and shall complete other duties as assigned. Some travel may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a bachelor's degree and two years of experience in finance, accounting or grants, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of government grant funding sources, government grant writing experience, and the federal government's Uniform Guidance grants management framework are recommended. Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and annual financial reporting with the State Comptroller's Office in WEDGE, including, but not limited to, the Schedule of Expenditure of Federal Awards (SEFA) and SCO-563 reporting, is preferred. Strong organizational skills, exemplary writing ability, experience with computerized data gathering, and statistical analysis are essential. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

HOURS OF WORK:   8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Monday- Friday)
