Director - Budget/Fiscal - Springfield
Under the Chief Fiscal Officer, the Director of Budget/Fiscal manages, coordinates, and supervises professional and clerical staff engaged in grants, travel, and contract administration functions. The Director will assist with writing and monitoring federal grants, and manage the application, evaluation, and awarding of OAG settlements. The Director is responsible for initiating and completing all non-legal contracts of the Office and preparing the annual Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) report with the Office of the Comptroller. The Director also supervises, examines, and reviews reconciliations of accounts on a monthly basis and oversees travel coordinators as they assist other employees in making all necessary travel arrangements.
Travel within Illinois may be required.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, a minimum of three years’ experience in governmental accounting, budgeting and/or grant management, working knowledge of the Illinois Comptroller’s Statewide Accounting Management System manual, and the State’s ERP SAP system, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to effectively use available software applications, including Microsoft Excel, is critical. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizations skills are needed. Attendance, professionalism, integrity and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with OAG employees, the general public, as well as with other agencies and institutions is required.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
