The Environmental Crimes Bureau is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Attorney General. Responsibilities include the investigation and prosecution of environmental crimes in state court. Interested candidates must be able to work closely with local, state, and federal environmental agencies during the investigation and prosecution of the case. Candidates should have experience presenting and cross examining experts. Specific duties include: drafting search warrants and indictments, drafting and arguing motions, preparing witnesses for testimony before the grand jury, at hearings and at trials. Candidates should have trial experience and should be prepared to handle bench and jury trials around the State.
Salary and Experience: : Salaries start at $71,400. Candidates must be licensed by the State of Illinois at the time of application. Candidates with a minimum of three years prosecutorial experience (felony experience preferred), and a basic understanding and interest in environmental law concepts are encouraged to apply.
