POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Human Resources Coordinator

PERMANENT ASSIGNMENT: Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience


The Human Resources Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Coordinator operates in the SAGE/ABRA personnel system, utilized to maintain data relative to all budgeted and off budget employees. The Coordinators are responsible for maintaining and computing of seniority and benefit accrual dates as well as monitoring and carrying out established procedures in conjunction with bargaining unit and exempt staff salary increases.

The Human Resources Coordinator may also be responsible for generating evaluation notifications disseminated to Attorney General Supervisors, processing personnel transaction forms in conjunction with payroll closings and generating data used for EEO reporting purposes.

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for meeting with new employees as part of the offices new hire orientation program. Other duties include maintaining computerized and paper files, making necessary changes onto the Group Insurance Information System (GIIS), conducting exit interviews with resigning/terminating employees, covering employee benefits and work schedules, and the completion of necessary new-hire paperwork.


This position requires a bachelor's degree in public or business administration or any related field and 3 years progressively responsible professional experience in a human resource environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires the ability to work in a confidential environment. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

Hours of Work: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
