Senior Medicare Patrols

Senior Medicare Patrols are senior volunteers trained to identify and report Medicare fraud and other types of fraud, and to educate other seniors.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the Suburban Area Agency on Aging have partnered together through a federal grant to train seniors to become Senior Medicare Patrol volunteers as well as Senior Sleuths.

It is estimated that $1 out of every $7 spent on Medicare is lost to fraud, abuse, and billing errors. This results in a loss of tens of billions of dollars a year.
