8/29/08 Attorney General Madigan Asks Teens To Pledge “Not Me”

Kareem Kenyatta, Legislative Liaison for Attorney General Lisa Madigan, accepts a “Not Me” pledge from Luis Reyes, 13, and his mother Ramona at a Kmart in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood. Attorney General staff members were in Kmart and Sears stores throughout Chicago as families did their back-to-school shopping asking students to sign a pledge to focus on their education and avoid drugs, alcohol, tobacco and violence. In return, teens received a free t-shirt promoting their pledge.


8/22/08 DuQuoin State Fair Twilight Parade

Attorney General Lisa Madigan waves to the crowd Friday night during the Twilight Parade kicking off the DuQuoin State Fair. Madigan was joined by her staff and their families and friends who passed out candy to parade watchers. The fair runs through September 1, 2008, and this year’s theme is “It’s a Jungle in Here.”

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joins Jeff Kirsch, left, Vice President of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, and James Jackson, First Deputy Superintendent, Chicago Police Department, in calling for increased support for early education to boost graduation and cut crime.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Illinois released a new report that finds increasing graduation rates by 10 percentage points would prevent 150 murders and more than 8,000 aggravated assaults in Illinois each year.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joins members of her staff prior to the start of the Race Judicata 2008 Sprint for Justice 5K Run/Walk in Chicago. The race benefits the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation (CVLS) in their mission to ensure that the law works for everyone. CVLS volunteers and its staff attorneys represent low-income Chicagoans in a variety of civil matters.

Joined by her staff and their families, Attorney General Lisa Madigan waves to the crowd during the Twilight Parade kicking off the 2008 Illinois State Fair in Springfield. Earlier, Madigan joined Assistant Attorneys General Kim Stevens, back left, and Geri Arrindell, back right, with members of Daisy Troop 6446 prior to the start of the parade. Stevens and Arrindell are co-troop leaders and they all assisted in handing out candy to parade watchers.

8/1/08 Nettie Lasko, Immigrant Assistance Program Coordinator for Attorney General Lisa Madigan, gives out information to visitors to the 15th Annual All Kids and Family Health Fair in Mozart Park in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. The event was sponsored by the offices of State Sen. William Delgado, State Reps. Luis Arroyo and Cynthia Soto, and the 2nd Legislative District Health Committee. Lasko provided information about Madigan's Health Care Bureau, as well as ways for residents to protect themselves from scam artists and identity thieves.
