Attorney General Lisa Madigan speaks to members of her office's Charitable Advisory Council during their annual meeting in Chicago. Madigan was joined by Therese Harris, center, chief of Madigan's Charitable Trust Bureau, Valerie Lies, president and CEO of the Donors Forum and other representatives from charitable foundations and non-profit organizations from across Illinois. They met to discuss new ways government and the non-profit sector can better serve the people of Illinois.

Established in 1986, the WBDC is the largest and most comprehensive women's business assistance center in the U.S.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with Gordon Nash, left, board member of Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago (CRFC), and Mundelein High School Senior Juan Vasquez during an awards benefit in Chicago. Madigan was presented CRFC's 2007 Bill of Rights in Action Award by Nash and Vasquez for her work with the Illinois Youth Summit. The Illinois Youth Summit works to give high school students a voice in decisions that affect them by promoting awareness, investigation and civic action on current public policy issues.

The previous day, Madigan joined Knox College President Roger Taylor, right, school faculty members, students and alumni for the "Pumphandle," an annual tradition that occurs at the start of each academic year in which participants line up and shake hands. The event takes place at the school's Old Main, the academic heart of campus and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
