1/31/07 Madigan, I-SORT Launch Program To Assist In Locating Non-Compliant
Sex Offenders

Attorney General Madigan announced a partnership between her office, the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the U.S. Marshal’s Service (USMS) to focus on tracking non-compliant sex offenders during a news conference in Chicago.

Madigan was joined by members of the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Team (I-SORT) which included, from left, Homewood Police Chief Larry Burnson, President of the IACP, Maria Maher, Chief of Detectives of the CPD, John Clark, Director of the USMS, and Deputy U.S. Marshal Geoff Schenk of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Equality Illinois was founded in 1992 to secure, protect and defend the basic civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Illinoisans.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan Friday administers the oath of office to 34 recently-hired assistant attorneys general (AAsG) at James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. There are currently 348 AAsG serving statewide.

The symposium was sponsored by the PILR, a Loyola student legal publication in the news magazine style format that was founded in 1995.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan Thursday talks to second- and third-year law students attending the University of Illinois College of

Law’s Chicago Litigation Practice, or “Bootcamp,” at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. Madigan gave a brief overview of the Attorney General’s Office and the type of work attorneys in the office perform. The “Bootcamp” class is designed to provide law students with a realistic experience of the substance and form of Cook County litigation, as well as expose them to various judicial levels, county and state agencies and practitioners.

a business owner about a possible breach of personal information. Nielsen works on privacy and security issues with consumers, businesses and agencies who contact Madigan’s office through her Identity Theft Hotline.
