POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff Coordinator

PERMANENT ASSIGNMENT: Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration

BUREAU SERVED: Human Resources

LOCATION: Springfield

SALARY: Commensurate With Experience

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Support Staff Coordinator organizes the activities of support staff assigned to one or more bureaus by assessing, designating and assigning work. The Support Staff Coordinator identifies and addresses training needs, secures resources for support staff in assigned bureaus and interacts with Bureau Chiefs or supervisors to implement office policies and practices. Duties include the preparation of evaluations of all assigned support staff, monitoring time and attendance, and assisting Bureau Chiefs and supervisors with personnel recommendations to executive management, which may involve suspension, layoff, hiring, recall, promotion or discharge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in human resource management, social science, psychology, business administration, public administration, or related field, with at least 3 years of responsible supervisory or management experience, or any combination of comparable education and experience.

HOURS OF WORK: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
