Title: Bureau Chief Environmental Crimes

Division: Criminal Justice

Location: Chicago Office

The Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking to fill the Bureau Chief position in its Environmental Crimes Bureau. The attorneys in this Bureau investigate and prosecute environmental crimes in state court. They work closely with local, state, and federal environmental agencies, as well as local and state police. The Bureau Chief must be able to oversee all aspects of criminal prosecution and all phases of the criminal trial process, including jury selection, opening statements, witness preparation, witness examination, cross-examination, and closing arguments.

The Bureau Chief should have at least 10 years experience, be a skilled litigator with experience handling complex civil cases or criminal cases, be committed to aggressively enforcing state and federal laws, and have excellent communication and management skills.

Salary and Experience: Salaries are commensurate with experience. Candidates must be licensed by the State of Illinois at the time of application. Candidates with an understanding and interest in environmental law are encouraged to apply.
