Title: Assistant Unit Supervisor – Employment Litigation

Bureau: General Law - Chicago

Division: Government Representation

The Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking to fill a supervisory position in its Employment Litigation Unit within the General Law Bureau. Attorneys in this Unit defend the State of Illinois, its officers, agencies, and employees in federal employment actions.

In addition to handling cases, the Assistant Unit Supervisor is responsible for supervising and mentoring other attorneys assigned to the Employment Litigation Unit, which includes reviewing the work of other attorneys in the Unit as well as providing technical and legal advice and direction to them.

Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of employment litigation experience, excellent legal research and writing skills, an attention to detail, superior written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, state or federal jury trial experience, and the ability and desire to supervise others. Candidates must be licensed by the State of Illinois at the time of application.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
