Permanent Assignment: Violent Crime Victims Assistance/AVN

Location: Chicago

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Statewide Automated Victim Notification Coordinator serves as project manager and oversees the implementation, installation, and operation of a statewide automated victim notification system in Illinois. The Statewide Automated Victim Notification Coordinator shall:

Provide information to key system users in Illinois; promote use of the statewide automated victim notification system by coordinating and conducting system trainings to criminal justice system users throughout Illinois; perform additional training as needed to promote the system benefits; staff and assist the Crime Victim and Witness Notification Advisory Committee; provide progress reports on plan/system operations to the VCVA/AVN Director; coordinate installation of system components and system operation throughout Illinois.

The Statewide Automated Victim Notification Coordinator serves as a liaison between Illinois users and vendors to ensure ongoing system usage and optimal performance. The Coordinator monitors the system to ensure proper functioning, both at the vendor and system user levels. The Coordinator shall also evaluate system performance, client satisfaction, participant involvement, and performance using the tools provided in the system.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor's degree in addition to proven work experience in the criminal justice system. Additional requirements are: computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of basic MIS systems; outstanding communication skills and comfort level with public presentations; ability to prioritize tasks of a critical nature; statewide travel; attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

Hours of Work: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
